Our new toilets have been twinned with schools in Pakistan and Malawi
Food Bank
The church supports the Aston and Nechells Food Bank, giving emergency food to people in crisis. Operated by the Trussell Trust, it is based at St Matthew’s Church, Nechells. We collect non-perishable food stuffs at Carrs Lane and it is delivered weekly to Nechells. There is an opportunity for anyone to contribute including visitors to the church and groups hiring rooms in the conference centre.

City of Sanctuary is a national movement to build a culture of hospitality for people seeking sanctuary in the UK. Find out how towns and cities around the UK are becoming recognised as places of safety and welcome.
A ‘City of Sanctuary’ is a place where a broad range of local organizations, community groups and faith communities, as well as individuals are publicly committed to welcoming and including people seeking sanctuary.
In Birmingham a small group of people have met to start working towards becoming a City of Sanctuary. The Church at Carrs Lane supports the City of Sanctuary movement and is working towards becoming a Church of Sanctuary.
