Travel

Most Birmingham buses are operated by National Express West Midlands, and stops are located throughout the city centre. Check your route to find out the closest stop. Directions from various locations follow; but if unsure of the way when you arrive, ask for directions to Marks & Spencer, which runs the length of Carrs Lane.

From Birmingham Coach Station (or the Markets)
From the coach station cross Digbeth dual carriageway, and turn left. From there or from the markets, head towards the Selfridges building, and follow the main road round to its right, and up the hill to Moor Street Station. The Church Centre is opposite the station, to the right of Marks & Spencer’s white stone building.

From Moor Street Queensway
The Church Centre is across Queensway from Moor Street Station, and opposite Marks & Spencer on Carrs Lane.

From Bull Street
Walk slightly downhill, and follow the road around to the right towards postal boxes on the corner and then towards Marks & Spencer. Take the first turning on the left, opposite Boots, into Carrs Lane. The Church Centre is at the far end on the left.

From Corporation Street
Head down towards High Street. At High Street, turn left and go past Marks & Spencer; immediately after that turn right into Carrs Lane. The Church Centre is at the far end on the left. (See also From Bull Street above.)

From Priory Queensway
Head through the shopping centre. Turn left at Bull Street, and follow the directions From Bull Street above.

From Colmore Row
Cross the road towards Great Western Arcade and turn left. Turn right which takes you under a building (onto Bull Street). Keep walking, crossing straight ahead at the junction. Follow the road round to the right, and opposite Boots turn left into Carrs Lane, with Marks & Spencer on the far side. The Church Centre is at the far end of Carrs Lane, on the left.

From New Street Station & Grand Central Metro Stop

There are several possible walking routes from New Street Station to Carrs Lane. We suggest:
Exit the Station and Turn Right onto Stephenson Street;
Turn Left onto Stephenson Place, slightly uphill;
At next corner, Turn Right onto New Street (pedestrianised);
After passing Odeon Cinema on right, at next corner Turn Left onto High Street (pedestrianised);
After passing Marks & Spencer on you right, Turn Right into Carrs Lane;
Continue past the Church Centre at the end of Carrs Lane, and turn left to reach the main entrance.
BUT for disabled access to Level 1 (lower ground floor), or ALL access to the Counselling Centre, turn left onto the car park immediately before the Church Centre, and go past the first entrance to the door signed Counselling Centre.

From Moor Street Station

The Church Centre is almost directly across Moor Street Queensway from Moor Street Station, and opposite Marks & Spencer on Carrs Lane.

From Snow Hill Station & St Chad’s Metro Stop

Cross the road towards Great Western Arcade and turn left. Turn right which takes you onto Bull Street and (Bull Street Metro Stop) . Keep walking, crossing straight ahead at the junction. Follow the road round to the right, and opposite Boots turn left into Carrs Lane, with Marks & Spencer on the far side. The Church Centre is at the far end of Carrs Lane, on the left.

There is a small car park at the Church Centre, which is accessed from “New Meeting Street”. However, priority is given to those with limited mobility, for unloading and to church and staff members. Please note: the remaining spaces are available on a daily basis and paid for on arrival. There is also a bus lane on Moor Street Ringway right in front of the Church Centre. Cameras are in operation and drivers can be fined £60 for using bus lanes.

Have you thought of parking at a suburban railway station? Moor Street Station is across the road from the Church Centre, and New Street or Snow Hill Stations are an easy walk. Some stations on the lines into Birmingham have free parking – you may be able to find out which by searching for ‘Birmingham station parking’ on the Internet.
