political night prayer brings together our concerns about the divisions of our country and world and our hope in God. How might diversity and unity be reconciled in an increasingly unsettled and divided world?
This event follows in the tradition of Dorothee Soelle and others who organised the ‘Politisches Nachtgebet’ in Cologne from 1968 to 1972. It is a simple idea, in which worship is the context for unfettered thinking and praying, listening and speaking about our political life together and how to think it as Christian people. It is a place for nurturing friendship and alliances in our various commitments to living faith in public.
