Carrs Lane Counselling Centre is celebrating fifty years of caring in the city centre.
CLCC began through the vision and inspiration of members of our church. This year, in November, we are planning several events to celebrate the contribution CLCC has made to support thousands of people experiencing crises and distress as they sort out their problems.
We would like to invite all who value the service provided by this centre to attend a service of celebration at The Church at Carrs Lane on Sunday 5th November at 10.30am followed by a bring-and-share lunch. We have invited our Lord Mayor and Andy Street, West Midlands’ Mayor, to join us in remembering the achievements of the past and sharing with us a vision for the future.
In addition, we hope to launch fund raising activities to support the centre which relies on voluntary contributions from clients and appeals to trust funds. All the counsellors and supervisors of the centre give their time voluntarily. We want to support them in their work through effective management and through ensuring that they are trained to the highest level. This centre has a gold star reputation and we hope that its work will be acknowledged this year and continue for many years to come.
What type of counselling do we provide?
We are a registered charity whose aim is to provide a low cost counselling service to the community for adults 18 or over.
We provide a confidential service within a safe and comfortable environment where you can gain an understanding of the challenges you face and the emotional distress you may be experiencing.
We use a person-centred/integrative model. Our approach is non-judgemental and focuses on a relationship of trust between you and your counsellor. This encourages you to explore the options available to you and support you to make decisions which will enable you to work towards living in a more satisfactory way. We offer one to one, couple and group therapy.
We hold Service Accreditation Award from The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
