With the support of the Westhill Endowment, Elmhurst School for Dance has developed an outreach project called ‘Light’ which uses the medium of dance to explore the spirit that binds all people together. Its aim is to encourage understanding and harmony between different faith groups and to challenge extremist and fundamentalist views through the dance itself and the opportunity for guided discussion with students which follows.
The ballet was performed after the service at Carrs Lane on Sunday 29th January, to a very responsive audience. The dancing was beautiful and the opportunity to ask questions of students after their performance was much appreciated. They were truly a credit to themselves and to their teachers.
Well done to Elmhurst and thank you to Westhill for supporting such a worthwhile project!
